Flash! Another secretary for DHS will be needed...
Just stopped in and saw this brief Reuters article posted. Former New York police commissioner Bernard Kerik has taken himself out of the running for Bush's secretary of homeland security. A damn shame, I think he would have made a good one. No concrete reasons are given, apparently it's because of "personal" issues.
UPDATE: This AP article is a bit more detailed. It looks like the empty and unfounded Cheney-Halliburton style attacks may have had at least some role. It's ashame people aren't really allowed to be successful or earn money if they ever want to serve their country. Let the stun-gun company conspiracies flow!
